Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life, where you will celebrate the greatest love of your life with the people you love the most. With so many important people surrounding you, one of the biggest and most exciting decisions about wedding planning is choosing who will stand with you at the altar: aka your bridal party. Arguably, the most important person in that group is none other than the maid of honor!
Whether it be a high school best friend, college roomie, or sibling, it can be hard to narrow down your choices. That’s why the Now and Forever Love Team has come together to bring you our top tips to choose your maid of honor.
Ready? Let’s go!
Use the “Family Card”
If you have a sibling you were considering, it’s the easiest way to squash any questions about who will be the Maid of Honor. Any friend will understand that family comes first, and you’ll avoid any problems moving forward because people respect family ties.

Use different titles
If you’re narrowing it down between two choices and one of them is already married, call one of them your Maid of Honor and the other your Matron of Honor. Traditionally, matron was used to refer to a member of the bridal party who was already married, but using two separate titles for the same role will make both ladies feel special.

You don’t have to use a sistah!
If you have a brotha-from-anotha-motha who is your best friend, use him as your Man of Honor! Heck, if you’re super close with your brother and feel that he has been there for you the most, have him be your Man of Honor.
At the end of the day, your bridal party should be the people who support your marriage and will help strengthen your marital commitment. These should be people who genuinely care about you and know you, so don’t stress out too much over it. It’s your wedding day, so do what’s right for you.
